Adrienne
-
Born in Vancouver BC, Adrienne began playing the piano at the age of five. She holds an ARCT diploma in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music and a Bachelors of Music with a Specialization in Secondary School Education from the University of British Columbia, where she studied Piano (Primary Instrument) and Voice (Secondary Instrument).
Adrienne has conducted choirs for various local churches in Coquitlam and has a specialization in Secondary Music Education (playing drums, flute, guitar, etc.). Adrienne also holds a second Bachelor’s degree in Music Therapy from Capilano University and is an accredited music therapist with the Canadian Association of Music Therapy. Besides her enjoyment in teaching children and adults, she hopes to continue using music to inspire students to come.
Cindy

Cindy was born in Taipei, Taiwan and has been playing the piano for over 20 years with a Level 10 certificate from the Royal Conservatory of Music. Besides playing the piano, Cindy also has experience playing the Chinese Zither, Violin, and Flute. She is currently completing her Bachelors at SFU in Psychology and Education. During her spare time, Cindy loves to play music that she enjoys such as Pop arrangements, movie soundtracks, choral accompaniments (she has a soft spot for“old hymns”!). Cindy also finds great joy in playing music that just expresses her current mood, something she hopes to share with her students.
Cindy is an active pianist in church as well as in community choirs (as a singer and accompanist). She enjoys teaching piano to all ages and loves to witness the moment when students realize they can actually communicate and express something about themselves through music.
Other than having a strong musical interest as a hobby, you can find Cindy reading or writing, re-watching old episodes of “Once Upon a Time”, out taking nature walks, or treasure hunting at thrift stores and secondhand bookstores.
Her future plans and goals are to complete her Bachelors degree, and find a job that allows her to continue her passion in teaching piano.
Winnie

Born in Hong Kong, Winnie has been playing the piano for over twenty years. She enjoys playing different kinds of music such as classical, romantic, and pop songs. Winnie has had many musical experiences in playing the piano at church and teaching young musicians. Completing a Bachelors in Music Therapy from Capilano University in 2013, Winnie also has a completed ARCT in Teaching Elementary Piano Students with the Royal Conservatory of Music.
Winnie enjoys the process of a student’s learning, understanding and improving through her teaching and guidance whether it’s piano or dance. Winnie’s future plans are to continue teaching piano and dance, as well as establishing a music therapy career.
Fion

Fion Leung was born in Hong Kong and moved to Burnaby, BC when she was 1 years old. She started playing the piano at the age of 4, sings casually, and played the clarinet in high school. Fion plays mostly classical music, but she also loves pop music, movie themes, musical theater and Disney. She enjoys teaching and seeing her students find their own love for music with the skills they learn.
Besides teaching piano, she has shared her music with senior homes, collaborated with local singers, and participated in choirs in university.
Fion has received her Bachelors in Music from UBC, and her ARCT in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music. During her spare time, Fion enjoys reading novels, photography, and hiking. Her future plans are to continue to establish a teaching career and pursue further studies in piano.
Beni

Ms. Beni was born in Beijing and has played piano for over 20 years. She began her musical studies at age 4 at the Central Conservatory of Music in China and also holds a Bachelors in Arts and Social Sciences with a Communication Major. Ms. Beni was awarded the 2022 China Macao Piano Invitational Tournament for “Excellent Instructor”! Besides music, Ms. Beni loves to perform on stage as well as participate with non-profit organizations for feminist leaders.
In her spare time, Ms. Beni loves watching films, musicals and participating in outdoor activities! She loves teaching, and plans to teach piano long-term and spread her knowledge and passion with her students. Ms. Beni's favorite music genres are Baroque, Classical, Romantic as well as 20/21st century works. When moving to Canada, Ms. Beni advanced her training for Piano and is a RCM Specialized teacher in Elementary Levels. She has also been awarded for her China Musician Association Piano Performance in Grade 10, 2021 XiaMen Music Season International Piano Competition Beijing for 1st prize in the Youth division, and 2022 China Macao Piano Invitational Tournament for “Excellent Instructor”!
In her spare time, Ms. Beni loves film musicals and outdoor activities! She loves teaching, and plans to teach piano long-term and spread her knowledge and passion with her students!
Sarah

Ms. Sarah moved to beautiful Vancouver in 2013 from Taipei, Taiwan and has been playing piano since the age of 3. Besides playing the piano, she is also an established trumpet player and also plays the violin. Ms. Sarah loves to play classical, pop and some jazz! She also enjoys listening to electronic music and rewriting the melodies to the piano.
Ms. Sarah’s has participated in many various competitions throughout her high school and university years, from opera and orchestra competitions, to choir, piano and trumpet competitions. She also studied two years of Orff which led her to opportunities teaching kindergarteners music in Taiwan.
Ms. Sarah has a Bachelors in Music from Aletheia University in Taiwan and also has a Visual Art & Design Diploma. Adding Off Techniques and visuals to her lessons gives Ms. Sarah’s students another perspective in learning as well as added fun! In Ms. Sarah’s spare time, she enjoys yoga, baking and taking walks with her fluffy dog “Yoke Yoke”. Her future plans and goals include: continuing to teach piano, taking a Music Therapy diploma and have a piano recital in Vancouver in the near future.
Haley

Ms. Haley grew up in Topeka, Kansas (USA), and has been playing the violin for over 20 years. She has her Masters of Music in Violin Performance from the Boston Conservatory, Bachelors of Music in Violin Performance, and a Bachelors Degree in German. She loves to play a bit of everything and grew up playing fiddle and classical music, which later opened her up to playing contemporary and pop arrangements. Her favorite composer is Shostakovich, although Caroline Shaw is a top contender.
While working on her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree, she played with many orchestras in Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, and in Iowa City, including the Southeast Iowa Symphony Orchestra. Ms. Haley made her orchestral debut at 17, playing the Bach Double with the Ottawa Symphony (Kansas, not Ontario). Several of her students in Boston were accepted to prestigious music programs in the area, including the Rivers Conservatory and NEC Prep.
The best thing about teaching strings for Ms. Haley is playing duets with her students, as well as listening to their wonderful performances at recitals. Besides teaching, she likes to embroider, bake, cook, and try out new coffee shops, bullet journal, read, and watch home renovation shows.
Carolyne

Ms. Carolyne is from Malaysia and has been playing the piano since she was 7 years old. She holds an ABRSM Diploma in Performance, and a Bachelor of Arts in Piano Performance. When she was only 15 years old, she began playing piano for her church, and teaching private lessons. In 2018, she performed as a soloist with the Qatar Philharmonic Orchestra and Qatar Youth Orchestra. Throughout her university years, she received training from many world class pianists including Charles-Richard Hamelin, Douglas Finch, and Cheng Cheng Zhao. Ms. Carolyne also plays double bass and sings, and she is currently a part of the Klemeta Choral, Valley Festival Singers, and e2021. She mostly enjoys playing classical, pop, jazz, contemporary worship music, and soundtracks from Korean dramas. Her future plans include getting a Master's degree in Piano Pedagogy, and to continue teaching students at high levels. Outside of music, Ms. Carolyne enjoys reading, playing on her Nintendo Switch, going jogging, and trying out international cuisines.
Sung Shin

Mr. Sung Shin is from South Korea and has been playing guitar for 15 years. He has lived in Korea, China, and the United States and can speak three languages including English, Mandarin and Korean! Mr. Sung Shin has a Bachelor of Music in Performance from the Musicians Institute in Los Angeles (where he was also a teacher's assistant), and a Master of Music in Improvisation from the University of Michigan.
Mr. Sung Shin hopes to give his students the tools to learn and enjoy music, and to introduce them to different styles of music. He is well versed in jazz, rock, pop and many other genres. When he is not teaching, you can find him cooking or playing video games.
Jessica

Ms. Jessica was born in Busan, South Korea, and has been playing the violin, viola, and piano ever since she was a child.
She is currently minoring in Music at Trinity Western University and is a part of Trinity Western's University Orchestra as the principal violinist in her section. She is also part of a small chamber music group called "Quintessence."
Ms. Jessica loves learning about her students and catering to their needs as much as possible.
Other than music, her hobbies include hiking, general outdoor activities, and learning about healthcare.
MJ

Ms. MJ is from the Philippines and has been playing music since she was 9 years old. She enjoys playing pop and R&B music, and has performed in multiple capacities as an artist in singing competitions, church, and school choirs. She has also sang at many large scale events such as Surrey Fusion Festival, New Westminster Canada Day,
Richmond Night Market, and other civic festivals. She is well-versed in piano, and has a degree in Music Technology and Engineering from Douglas College. When it comes to teaching, she enjoys being able to connect and grow her students. Her future goal is to work as a record label executive and artist manager.
Yi

Ms Yi, from Hong Kong, is a piano teacher with more than 14 years of teaching experience. Though Ms. Yi is a classically trained musician, she is also familiar with other music genres like rock, R&B and jazz. Ms. Yi began to play in a band as a bassist in 2013 and took part in various international music festivals like "Laneway Festival" in Singapore, "Clockenflap" in Hong Kong and "Megaport Festival" in Taiwan. In addition, her band also won the Best Overseas Creative Artist at the Taiwan Golden Indie Music Awards in 2016.
Ms. Yi is a cheerful teacher and loves to share the joy of music with all her students. When she is not in the classroom, she enjoys playing video games and watching Japanese animation.
Wendy (Mobile)

Ms. Wendy was born in China and has played piano for over 21 years. She first began her musical studies at age of 5. She was previously part of the Burnaby Clef Music Festival, when she was younger. Ms. Wendy has received the grade of First Class Honours for grades 8, 9, and 10 RCM Practical exams, and also holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from the University of Victoria. During her time as a student, she was also performed as a pianist for the University of Victoria's orchestra.
In her spare time, Ms. Wendy enjoys playing sports such as volleyball and badminton or walking her dog, Kai.
Erin

Ms. Erin was born in Burnaby, and has been playing the piano for 15 years. She has completed Level 10 RCM, and has received numerous scholarships from the VAYA International Music Festival. She is also currently pursuing her Bachelors in Science at SFU. Her childhood dream that she is working towards is to pursue a research career, specializing in astrophysics!
Ms. Erin loves to play Romantic and Impressionist music, making her favourite composers Chopin and Debussy. In her free time, you can find her spending time with her cat Mira, listening to R&B and J-pop, and reading murder mystery and sci-fi novels!
Michelle (Mobile)

Ms. Michelle was born in Hong Kong and has played piano for 16 years. She also plays the Erhu, Soprano Recorder, Marimba, and various percussion instruments.
Ms. Michelle has an Advanced Music Studies Certificate from the Hong Kong Music Institute, in addition to completing the ABRSM Grade 8 Piano Solo and Trinity College London Grade 8 Musical Theatre examinations. Her experiences include participating in the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival, performing in musicals, and playing the piano in an ensemble and as an accompanist.
Ms.Michelle is also a freelance fashion designer, and enjoys painting, designing, and crafting new art pieces in her spare time!
Gordon

Mr. Gordon was born in Richmond, BC, and has been playing the piano for 22 years. He currently holds a Bachelor’s degree in Music from UBC. He has also placed 2nd on the CMC National Piano Competition.
Mr. Gordon’s favourite music to play and perform is classical. When it comes to teaching, his goal is to inspire and motivate students to get better and to enjoy the piano more.
When he is not teaching, Mr. Gordon enjoys reading books and going out for walks.
Justin

Mr. Justin is originally from Hong Kong, and has been playing the piano for over 20 years. He also plays guitar, drums, and a little bit of bass as well for fun. He absolutely enjoys playing pop music in general. He currently holds ABRSM Level 8 certification as well as a Bachelor’s in Music from Queensland University of Technology.
Mr. Justin is also a music producer and an audio engineer, which is something that he has been doing for the past 8 years. He mainly focuses on producing EDM, lo-fi beats, and pop music.
His goal in the future is to open up a coffee shop with a piano, so that he may help others to relax and enjoy music.
When not teaching or producing music, you can find Mr. Justin playing badminton, boardgames, or building legos.
Tony

Mr. Tony, born in China and raised in Hong Kong, has been playing guitar for 25 years and also plays the ukulele, bass, and a bit of piano. With over 10 years of experience as a musician and guitar teacher in Hong Kong, he's performed in restaurants, weddings, and jazz bands. He holds a Music Diploma from Douglas College, a Professional Jazz Guitar Certificate from Berklee College, and a Rockschool Grade 8 Guitar Certificate. As a teacher, he loves watching his students grow and improve.
Yannie

Yannie was born and raised in Coquitlam, but has also lived in Providence, Rhode Island and New York City. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in Fine Arts from Rhode Island School of Design, and has recently spent a year studying dance at Peridance's Independent Study Program in New York. Yannie is also a dance instructor and a freelance visual artist. Although she grew up listening to rock and alternative music, she now mainly listens to pop and R&B!
In her spare time, you can find her filming K-pop dance covers and cozying up with her three cats!
Samuel

Samuel was born in South Korea, but lived most of his life in Canada. He holds a Bachelor of Communication from SFU, specializing in Technology.
While Samuel does not teach music here in the studio, he has been playing the piano since he was in kindergarten. In fact, he has completed level 10 RCM, and plays for his church every Sunday.
In his free time, Samuel can often be found testing unreleased software or fixing computers while sipping a cup of ice-cold coffee.
Milo

Milo was born in Langley BC and is a quiet hypoallergenic Morkie (half yorkie/half Maltese). He grew up listening to all genres of music and likes to snooze in the corner of the room while lessons are happening. He is a great listener and also supports the teachers and students with his mellow presence and cute face.
Heesoo

Heesoo was born in the city of Montreal, but currently lives in Coquitlam. She part takes in creative projects such as Music videos, fashion shows and art markets/pop ups.
She loves all varieties of music from 70's soul/funk to early 2000's R&B.
Heesoo at her off time works on any passion projects with different mediums like animation, illustration, music production or anything that intrigues her.
Tiffany (Mobile)

Ms. Tiffany was born in Richmond BC, and has been playing the piano for 17 years. She currently holds RCM 10 Piano certification, and also sings as well. As a performer, she has participated in Calgary Arts Festival, Richmond Music Festival, Crescendo Music Festival, and International Berlioz Music Festival. Ms. Tiffany has also published her own music album in 2024.
Ms. Tiffany’s favourite music to play and perform is classical, neoclassical, and contemporary. When it comes to teaching, her goal is to inspire a passion of music to students and bonding over that passion.
When not teaching, you can find Ms. Tiffany baking, cooking, and working on her creative writing.
Jason

Mr. Jason was born in China and has been teaching voice and piano for the past eight years. Additionally, he enjoys playing the guitar for fun. Mr. Jason has a deep love for performing a variety of music genres, including classical, musical theater, jazz, and R&B.
Beyond music studios, he has shared his expertise by teaching for choirs, an a cappella group, and at a public school. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Studies from Hong Kong Baptist University and has been honored as the Vocal Solo Champion at the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival.
As a teacher, Mr. Jason finds great joy in watching his students grow and improve. When he is not teaching, he enjoys playing sports and taking photographs.
Crystal

Born and raised in Vancouver, BC, Ms. Crystal is a dedicated pianist and a piano teacher with over fifteen years of classical playing experience and eight years of teaching experience.
She holds the ARCT diploma in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music, as well as a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) from the University of Toronto.
Inspired by her interdisciplinary studies, not only is Ms. Crystal passionate about Chopin, she also feels the most alive when she is immersed in the world of ballet, books, pasta, romantic comedies, photography, and art.
When not teaching, you can find Ms. Crystal listening to audiobooks and podcasts, binge-watching crime documentaries, and losing at online chess games.
Angela

Ms. Angela was born in Seoul, South Korea. She has been singing and playing the piano for 30 years! Ms. Angela grew up playing music all throughout school, and performing in church. She has also performed as part of the Seoul Motet Choir as well. She currently holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music (Voice), as well as a Post-Baccalaureate Degree from Douglas College.
Ms. Angela’s favourite kinds of music to play are classical music and gospel songs. Her love for children and passion for music are what continue to drive her as a teacher!
Outside of teaching, Ms. Angela loves to travel all around the world!
Rhythm

Rhythm Tang was born in Vancouver, BC and has been playing the piano since the age of 4, and violin since the age of 6. Additionally, she also plays saxophone, French horn, and percussion in concert bands. Rhythm enjoys playing piano music from TV dramas and the top 40s. On the violin, she enjoys playing anything from classical to Fiddle to modern jazz charts.
Rhythm’s vast musical experience includes conducting air cadet marching bands, leading string orchestras as the concert master, and accompanying choirs, weddings, and church programs.
Rhythm also has her ARCT and ABRSM Piano Diploma, and her Level 10 Violin RCM Certificate. She hopes to continue teaching young students since it has always been a huge reward for her to see the “eureka moment” and big smile across their faces when they achieve a new skill in music.
Besides piano and violin, Rhythm enjoys cross-country skiing, and baking creative cupcakes, cakes and macarons! Her future goals are to become a project manager in the data analytics Field and to continue teaching privately so that students have the skills to begin playing in duets and small ensembles.
