Levels: 3-4
Carefully selected and curated to support teachers and students in their artistic and technical development, the Violin Series, 2021 Edition includes pieces from a diverse range of eras and styles that represent stepping stones to major violin repertoire. Each level is constructed to link repertoire selections to necessary techniques and corresponding etudes, while illustrating step-by-step connections for developing core skills.
Building upon previous levels, Violin Technique, Etudes, and Musicianship 34 introduces new keys, expands finger patterns, and encourages skill development. Students will explore two-octave scales spanning first to fourth positions, chromatic scales, dominant 7th and diminished 7th arpeggios, double-stop exercises, and broken double-stop intervals in sixths. This book features etudes arranged in both solo and duet forms, providing students with chamber music experience. Commissioned works allow students to enjoy character pieces tailored to specific technical challenges.
This book further promotes the development of musicianship skills with sight reading offering increased understanding of tonality, rhythmic subdivisions, time signatures, and key signatures.
